- {'name': 'Monosodium Glutamate', 'quantity': 1.0, 'unit': 'tablespoon'}
- {'name': 'Chicken Stock', 'quantity': 4.0, 'unit': 'cup'}
- {'name': 'Fresh White Bread', 'quantity': 8.0, 'unit': 'slice'}
- {'name': 'Eggs', 'quantity': 8.0, 'unit': 'unit'}
Instructions
- Put the oil and garlic into a very heavy large pot.
- Sauté until almost golden brown.
- Add the water, salt, monosodium glutamate and chicken stock.
- Simmer for 3 hours.
- Check the seasoning.
- Place a slice of bread in each soup bowl.
- Put a ladle of the hot soup into each bowl on top of the bread.
- Immediately on top of the bread break an egg so it congeals.
- Serve.
- Can be made a day ahead and refrigerated; to serve, reheat and follow serving steps.
