In 1925, Gene Kreig Creed became the youngest woman ever to win the bronc riding in Cheyenne. Learning to ride before she was 5, she was one of the best cowgirls around winning trick riding, relay races and bronc riding championships during a career which spanned three decades and three continents. Mabel Strickland, also known as Slim, pinned a calf to the ground in 18 seconds and won the all-around cowgirl title twice at Cheyenne Frontier Days in the early 1920's. To honor that sass, we mixed up Cucumber-Jalapeno tequila, Cointreau, Grand Marnier, a squeeze of lemon and lime, topped with orange juice. Served in a glass rimmed with Tajin and garnished with a dried orange and candied jalapeños.
