Preheat all burners of a gas grill on medium. Place tamales on the grill and cook for 4-6 minutes, turning multiple times until the corn husks develop visible grill marks.

Heat on high for 1 minute. Check and add additional time as needed until fully heated.
Prepare for Heating
Arrange no more than two tamales on a microwave-safe plate and cover the plate with a damp towel.
Thaw the Tamales
Place the tamales in the refrigerator for a few hours to thaw before microwaving.
Steaming/Stove-Top
Check Temperature
Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Cook
Heat on medium-low. For thawed tamales: Cook for 10-15 minutes. For frozen tamales: Cook for 20-30 minutes.
Cover the Pot
Cover the pot with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, then place the lid on securely.
Prepare the Tamales
Remove the tamales from the bag and stand them upright in a steamer pot.
