Apples are at the core of everything we do. Our goal is to highlight beautiful apple flavors and aromas in our ciders without overshadowing with sugar. The cider process starts and ends with 100% fresh-pressed apple juice. No water, no concentrates, and minimal intervention.
Tangy pineapple, herbaceous nutmeg. Sweet as the morning, dark as the night.
Our brewery and processes are on the traditional pre-industrial side. We use a single-step infusion mash and boil in a direct fire copper kettle. Our resulting ales and lagers are mostly Continental, British, and post-modern American. The myriad of malts and hops we play with come from Europe and North America in our never-ending pursuit of delicious beer. We start our brews with different waters for each beer to accentuate the unique characters that best fit that beer. We stock and select from about twenty-five different barley (and sometimes wheat and rye) malts from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Germany and Belgium. Our 21-barrel brewhouse uses a single-step infusion (British-style) method followed by boiling in our solid copper kettle. In the kettle, we add some from the dozen hops we buy from the U.S. and Germany. Occasionally, we also add our redwood branch tips, cedar branches, fruit, or other herbs.
Our brewery’s name comes from Old Cazadero Road, an overgrown and downright Jurassic path that connects the Northern California towns of Guerneville and Cazadero. These were old logging spots in the late 1800s and the area still retains plenty of the wild, pioneering character that has long since vanished from much of Sonoma County. Although most of Old Cazadero Road is no longer a drivable thoroughfare, its viciously steep and winding terrain has become a prized destination for cyclists of all disciplines and quickly became one of our favorite roads to explore. From its dark and densely wooded stretches to expansive ridgetop views, Old Caz has always been a mythical place to us and represents everything we love about Sonoma County.
Original Pattern Brewing Co. is an award-winning, employee-owned brewery and tasting room proudly located in Oakland, California producing anywhere from 8,500-10,000 barrels in our humble system comprised of six eighty-barrel and six sixty-barrel tanks. With one of the largest NZ hop contracts on the west coast we frequently showcase a range of unique and hard to get New Zealand hops. We love all styles of beer and always offer a diverse selection of package and draft beer.
We craft unmistakably great non-alcoholic brews that satisfy all your beer needs so that if you're not boozing at the moment, for whatever reason, you don't miss a thing. Since we launched, thousands of folks have been sipping, clinking, and crushing cans of RationAle. So rip into right now, your own way.

Our 2024 Rosé of Pinot Noir began with fruit hand-harvested during the coolness of night, from our tailored Rosé vineyards at an average of 21 Brix. We immediately whole cluster press this cold fruit, separating the juice & skins in a classic Vin Gris style resulting in a pale, salmon color. We ferment our Rosé juice in a combination of neutral French Oak barrels and stainless steel, culminating in a low alcohol, bone-dry wine with racy acidity.
Our 2022 Chenin Blanc fruit is night-harvested from an old vine vineyard in the Clarksburg AVA on the Sacramento River. We lightly whole cluster press the fruit to a stainless steal tank where we let the juice chill at 50°F for two days to settle. On the third day, we clean-rack it to a smaller tank leaving the heavy sediment behind. We let the wine slowly start fermenting, keeping the temperature cool, below 56°F, to achieve freshness and preserve aromatics. The wine ferments in a mixture of vessels giving the wine a variety of textures from the stainless steel, cement, and neutral French oak. All lots are aged on the lees until blended together just prior to bottling. The wine isplaced in our cold barrel room to keep the fermentation cool and slow, maintaining freshness and bright aromatics. As the wine slowly ferments for an additional 3 weeks in barrel, we top and stir each barrel weekly. The wine stays in those same barrels for 6 months on lees.

The result is a pure, elegant expression of Pinot Noir with bright red fruit, fine minerality, and a graceful, lingering finish — a testament to Burgundy’s cooler northern terroir and the region’s exciting revival.

Stéphane Coquillette is a fourth-generation winemaker in Champagne. His late father, Christian, ran Saint-Chamant from 1950 until 2020, and he encouraged his son out to start his own estate when Stéphane was 25. Though mentored by his father, Stéphane developed a very different style of expression at his own house, creating fresher, drier Champagnes, primarily from Chouilly (Grand Cru), Cuis (99% 1er Cru) for Chardonnay, and d'Aÿ (Grand Cru) and Mareuil/Aÿ (99% 1er Cru) for Pinot Noir. Meticulously committed to organic practices, Stéphane avoids herbicides at all costs. Farming is done by hand, including trellising and pruning, which helps avoid disease and allows for a healthy crop. With more than 10 different parcels, he produces several single-vintage and single-vineyard Champagnes — a rarity in this region — and all his wines are small-production. Stéphane Coquillette Champagnes are characteristically precise, fresh and lively.
